At Deo Solar we manufacture mounting hardware as well as install complete PV systems. That dual view shaped a clear product decision: most South African metal roofs do not need a continuous rail.
What “rail-less” means
A rail-less system fixes each module to discrete brackets that follow the roof profile (IBR, corrugated, Klip-On / standing seam, or direct-to-purlin). There is no long aluminium rail spanning the array.
That cuts:
- Material — less aluminium on the roof and in the truck
- Dead load — useful on older industrial and agricultural structures
- Install time — our crews routinely mount hundreds of panels per day when the bracket system is familiar
Where rails still win
Large ground mounts and some very irregular structures still favour rails or custom framing. We supply both when the engineering calls for it. The point is to match the roof, not force one product onto every site.
Getting it right
Wrong brackets on the wrong profile are expensive — leaks, rework, and warranty disputes. If you are unsure whether IBR, corrugated or Klip-On is correct for a job, talk to us or start with the free DeoSizer layout tool for quantities, then confirm on site.
