We are proud to announce the completion of a state-of-the-art hybrid solar system for a cucumber farm, designed to meet substantial energy demands. This advanced system features a 120kW hybrid inverter, 240kWh battery backup, and 184.4kWp solar capacity, ensuring that all daytime loads are maintained and systems remain operational during power outages. The integration of grid and generator capabilities guarantees seamless energy transitions, providing reliable power supply under all conditions.

The hybrid solar system not only supports the farm’s energy-intensive operations but also enhances its sustainability by reducing reliance on traditional power sources. This project exemplifies our commitment to delivering innovative and efficient renewable energy solutions that cater to the unique needs of agricultural businesses.

The newly installed 120kW hybrid inverter, combined with a robust 240kWh battery backup, ensures that the cucumber farm operates efficiently without interruptions. By utilising the extensive 184.4kWp solar capacity, the system harnesses ample solar energy to power the farm during the day, significantly reducing operational costs and environmental impact.

Incorporating grid and generator integration, the system is designed to maintain uninterrupted power supply even during extended power outages. The generator integration allows for automatic take-over, ensuring that critical systems stay online and the farm’s productivity is never compromised. This seamless transition capability highlights the system’s reliability and effectiveness in managing energy needs.

The project also demonstrates a significant step towards sustainable farming practices. By leveraging renewable energy, the farm reduces its carbon footprint and enhances energy security, setting a benchmark for other agricultural enterprises aiming to adopt greener energy solutions.

Equipment Used

  • 1 x ATESS HPS120 Inverter: This high-performance hybrid inverter efficiently manages energy conversion and distribution, optimising the use of solar power and battery storage.
  • 3 x 80kWh Freedom Won HV Batteries: Providing a substantial 240kWh of battery storage, these high-voltage batteries ensure that power is available even during extended outages, maintaining the farm’s operational continuity.
  • 184.4kWp Solar Panels: High-efficiency solar panels capture and convert solar energy to meet the farm’s substantial daytime energy requirements, reducing dependence on external power sources.

Grid and Generator Integration

The advanced integration of grid and generator systems in the hybrid solar setup provides a seamless energy management solution. During power outages, the generator automatically takes over, ensuring no disruption in power supply. This feature is critical for maintaining the farm's productivity and protecting sensitive equipment.

Optimised Energy Storage and Usage

The 240kWh battery backup system, powered by three Freedom Won HV batteries, offers reliable energy storage, allowing the farm to operate independently of the grid when necessary. This optimised energy storage solution ensures that excess solar energy is stored efficiently and utilised during periods of low sunlight or power outages.

Enhanced Operational Efficiency

The 120kW ATESS HPS120 hybrid inverter plays a crucial role in managing and distributing energy effectively. By balancing solar input, battery storage, and grid power, the inverter ensures that the farm's energy needs are met with maximum efficiency. This results in enhanced operational efficiency and consistent power availability, crucial for the farm's daily operations.
